If it has tabs and doesn't look like they are from WC, I don't expect that it's us. The popup window bit itself seems to preclude that.

Ignore it and/or run AdAware or something to see what's causing it.

White_Moth, it looks like some program/process is trying to access a data source but either can't get to it or is configured to access one not available. Either way it is asking you to specify. Hard to say what program or process. You'll probably have to inspect all programs/processes in Task Manager (assuming you're running XP or 2K) and trying to shut them down one by one. Be careful of shutting down kernel dependent processes though; you'll crash!

ODBC is a programing interface that allows applications to access data in database management systems that use SQL as a data access standard. *Microsoft*

so most likely what has happened is recently you installed a program and it messed up somewhere along the way. Try and think about what you installed recently right b4 this began to occure. Uninstall and reinstall the program very often will correct these errors. Basically a program is searching for its database info and ODBC can not locate it.

Oh by the way it might be worth noting that your ODBC in Win ME is located under control panel. From there you can add data sources. In 2k and XP it is located under administrative Tools.

I had installed MSN Messenger and did have a problem DLing the upgrade.
Unfortunately, this morning I crashed so bad, I had to reinstall my OS, plus a few other things, and well, you can understand why I couldn't.

All fixed now, well last night.

It was MSN messenger.

I had used the version that came with my OS, and then I upgraded it, but had problems DLing the upgrade. On the third attempt, I got it to DL.

After §tatic and pictoratus pointed me in the right direction, I used my Auto-Start Manager to unload IM, then I rebooted, loaded IM again in Auto-Start, rebooted again.

I heard what sounded like an avalanche in my HD as everything corrected itself.

This morning, all is working great.

The problem came back...
...as soon as I went online there it was again. So I contacted my ISP and through "Live Chat" discovered that they began using an Email Client that requires Microsoft Office. Not having MS Office, I was asked to choose Outlook Express. When I did so, the Window so far, has not returned.

On another note,

The other day I began using MSN Messenger which I rather liked, however, not long afterward I began getting "Pre-attack probes. Today in a 20 minute period, I received 30 "HTTP_JRun_Double_Sk" hits which an attacker could send a specially-crafted URL request to the Web administration interface appended with an extra forward-slash character to bypass authentication and gain unauthorized access to administrative functions.

Well, out of all of that, I learned quite a bit. So overall, it was my gain.

BTW, I went directly to MSN's site and DLed the latest version of MSN Messenger 6.0, and so far I have had good beginnings with it. It is also much nicer than the "upgrade" one I received earlier. It is free.
