Is this good or bad?
I left a post on page 219 of the message board chatroom marathon, and the next thing I see is a message stating that I have been selected as a Deadlock Victim.

Yes...it means you are a second class citizen to someone else who was accessing the same site area at exactly the same time.
You lost, he won.

You'll need to bribe someone in high places now, or you will always lose...

Actually, it's no drama at all....DON'T PANIC....

Happened to me many a time... though I never yet had a note declaring me the deadlock winner!

Second class?...

Thanks Jafo, I thought it might be goobledegook stuff. But you know, tonight I am unable to get the skinbrowser to open at all, whereas yesterday it flew open twice in a row everytime I hit the button, and secondly, for the last two nights, I have been unable to upload. It seems when I enter upload, then move to wallpaper or any of the others, all I get is a bunch of misaligned garbage.
Any ideas?

Instead of bribing, according to GM, I should get a prize

RE: #3
Skinbrowser opens fine, but will not login, get that "timed out" stuff.
Anyone know what gives?

OK, and this too.

For all the Wincustomize family members, I am trying to upload several series of 8 ea. wallpapers for your Desktop pleasures. I think many of you will find them unique.
I have one in "waiting for approval" status to make sure I am uploading correctly.
Soon (hopefully) I will begin to upload series of 8 per.
Right now I have waiting in the wings:
*Jake's Light series.
*Jake's Twisted Bendings of the Light series.
*Jake's Aurora Borealus series.
*Jake's Golden series.
*Jake's Graphite Lights series.
*And more.
These are all Pure Mathematical expressions of color and light, solid and transparent, flowing and bending.
In their production, only about 1 in 20 are saved to file, and out of those only 8 are selected.
I intend to display them exclusively here at Wincustomize if allowed, so stay tuned, as this is my way of saying thank-you for having me.
In the mean time I am trying to learn how to skin, I have had experiance skinning on a Macintosh on a small scale. I am reading Alexanders excellent tutorial, and have learned much already. I think the Skin Studio is the "Cats Meow" of skinning applications. My fave artist is Treetog, but the rest of you are so good, I can see my work is cut out for me if I even want to rise up to a 10th of your talents.

Obviously that darn Zone Alarm Firewall must be the culprit, as I can see everyone else using their skinbrowser. I am told by Stardock staff that Black Ice Firewall works well with .asp
Any comments from B.I. users.
Don't get me wrong, ZA does what it is supposed to very well and that is protect your computer at the port side. One day in a three hour period, I had over 70 port hits from outside, 30 of which it deemed serious.

Isn't that a move you put somebody in if your going to kill them?

I'm getting a complex....
This morning, I, still groggy from lack of sleep, wake up my computer, hit the skinbrowser button, and BANG, I'm instantly logged in.
I go over to the upload section, open up, click wallpapers and everything is as it should be.
Oh well, all's well that starts well, but I think I am starting to talk to myself by the looks of things

Good morning.

Deadlock is on the server side. It has nothign to do with you. In technical terms, it's two processes waiting for each other to finish, which by definition will never happen, ergo: a deadlock. To deal with it the server "kills" one of those processes to get out of the deadlock.

I happen to think that things like this only happen on crud IIS webservers when the load is too high. I mean, have you ever seen Apache deadlock? Not me.

Then there is.....

Dreadlock - That silly hair thing.
Shedlock - A padlock for the place I keep my garden tools
Bedlock - A chastity belt
Fedlock - It keeps the taxman out.
Jedlock - So you won't be subjected to reruns of "The Beverly Hillbillies"
Pedlock - Shoes?
Tedlock - To keep away CNN and all those other annoying cable channels

And of course the most binding and hardest to break lock of them all.......Wedlock.
